Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I’m blown away! The portions are huge and the flavor is 10/10. Definitely ordering again! I’m so happy I found this spot."
"Ordered Easter weekend fish to eat starting Good Friday right until Easter morning. Bammy is crispy and excellent. Escovitch fish was made to order. Mild for those who are under Doc's order not to eat spicy food. Full spice for those who want the Jamaican Easter experience. We started eating right away and won't stop until we get to the bottom of the pan. We called to order, arrived to pick up. Establishment is clean, tidy and smells appetizing. Great customer service. Can't wait to order again. Best. Good Friday. Ever!"
"So I'm Jamaican. I've long been annoyed at the mediocrity of Jamaican restaurants all around. (Except Chef Tally...go eat that now). When I saw the near 5 star rating...I showed up with the intent of calling BS. Well jokes on me, I'm stuffed but can't stop shovelling this stuff down. I have nearly no need to visit my parents ever again. Love you Mom and Dad."
"Thankfully I always order food on a “good” day which is one of the busiest days Sat. No complaints. Because of the good food, this place is often busy so I can understand the cashier being a bit busy. I see the effort in pleasing every customer. IMO breakfast is one of the best traditional in the area. Fry escovich fish and bammy is to die for. Fish fried to perfection. Succulent, magnificent, mouth watering Caribbean pepper flavor is the best. Rice an peas tasty and the fry bammy, Port Royal style. I just placed my order for today so I will add photos"
"Yes it's good but pricey. Portion size is meh... coffee is just as much as Starbucks. Only got mostly foam with only partial coffee. Cheesecake was really good. This is a good once in a while thing if you have the money. Spent $25 on this so not sure if worth it. ..."
"Steam whole grouper, clean and quiet only thing I am kinda short and found the table too high for me other than than LOVED"
"Located in the Pembroke Square plaza, Macca Tree is a small Caribbean restaurant with a few table seating for customers. They offer the typical Jamaican dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner such as: * Ackee * Saltfish * Callaloo * Porridge * Fish tea * Curry shrimp * Escovitch/steam fish * Daily soups * Brown stew/jerk chicken * Curry goat/oxtail * And many more I received friendly service as I ordered the brown stew chicken lunch special, and the food was nicely prepared and tasted very good. The rice & peas was cooked to a soft consistency, the stew chicken was tender and flavorful, and the salad was simple with dried cranberries. Their lunch specials are offered Monday-Friday from 11am-5pm. Whenever I'm passing through the area, I just may stop by and get my usual dishes from here."
"Very nice lil restaurant, the staff is very sweet and the food is amazing. I got the brown stew chicken lunch special and paid $9 cash for all this (before tip of) I wish i tipped more! As far as food goes, the rice & peas were fresh & tasty and the stew is rlly seasoned & tender. The service was fast, there is plenty of parking & i will definitely come back when i'm in the area!"
